The Relevance of Google Posts

As Google My Business listings continue to garner more and more attention in local search results, adding new content in the form of a Google Post is a good way to enhance your overall SEO strategy. By utilizing Google Posts, dealers generate more public interest, attracting consumers and ultimately increasing organic traffic. Not only is fresh content in line with Google’s best practices, consistently driving valid traffic to a web page is a signal to the search engines that your site is worthy of more traffic and therefore may positively impact your positioning in the search results.

So while it may seem tedious at the moment, it is recommended to continue incorporating Google Posts into your marketing strategy. Think of the content you’re already creating and posting on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to build and maintain customer relationships. Similar posts can be created for your Google My Business profile to connect with customers and share special offers ($10 Off an Oil Change), products (new model release), events (Memorial Day Sales Event) and new business details (such as longer hours or a new salesperson). Repurposing content is a far more productive way to attract customers with brand consistency.

Posts can include text, photos, or videos and are visible from the overview of your Google My Business (GMB) Listing on Google Search and Maps. Complete with call-to-action (CTA) options for each post, Google Posts gives businesses a powerful “FREE” way to share content with their local customers.

Tips for Posting

The ideal length for a Google Post is 150 – 300 characters accompanied by a photo or video and a clear call-to-action which entice users to take action from your post. When posting, aim to be precise and consider the top 3 things your customers need to know or what you want them to remember most. To allow for more space in your posts, use abbreviations for months and hours, such as ‘Jan’ and ‘9am’. For more tips on creating a great post, visit support.google.com.
