With Google taking steps to reduce the need of team members going into their offices, businesses may notice temporary limitations and delays in support for Google My Business (GMB).

The most notable limitation at this time seems to be the ability for customers to leave reviews & ask questions using the Q&A feature along with a businesses ability to reply to reviews and answer those questions. At this time, Google is going to put most of their focus on the quality and reliability of information on Google My Business listings.

This includes essential GMB features such as business hours and business description. While changes to those items may not be immediately published, they will have priority over other GMB edits you may make during this unprecedented time.
We suggest updating all your listings if your business has been affected by COVID-19 to reflect special hours during this time. This is extremely important to ensure customers are provided with the most accurate information. You can also utilize your business description to explain any extra precautions your business is taking and/or if you are providing extra services such as at-home vehicle delivery or service vehicle pick-up.

It is important to note that with the changes Google is making to daily operations, all of their products will remain accessible. Yes, businesses may notice temporary limitations and delays with GMB but ultimately they are a result of the company taking precautions for not only their employees but the community at large which most may agree is priority under such unique circumstances.
